Sequoia Capital is a prominent American venture capital firm founded in 1972 by Don Valentine in Menlo Park, California. The firm specializes in seed stage, early stage, and growth stage investments in private technology companies, including those in the clean tech, consumer internet, crypto, financial services, healthcare, mobile, and robotics sectors. As of January 2025, Sequoia had approximately US$56 billion in assets under management.

The firm operates three regionally-focused venture entities: Sequoia in Europe, Peak XV Partners in Southeast Asia, and HongShan in China. Sequoia has made a wide variety of venture investments since its inception, including in Apple, ByteDance, and Cisco, among many others. In June 2023, Sequoia announced that it had raised $2.85 billion in additional funds to invest in India and Southeast Asia, marking the largest amount raised for these regions to date.

In November 2025, Roelof Botha stepped down as managing partner of Sequoia Capital after more than three years in the role. Alfred Lin and Pat Grady succeeded Botha as joint managing partners. Under Botha's leadership, Sequoia notably split its Chinese and Indian/Southeast Asian operations into independent firms in 2023 to address geopolitical and economic shifts. Botha will continue to advise the firm and serve on boards of its portfolio companies.
