Seven Point Equity Partners is a private investment firm dedicated to achieving superior long-term capital appreciation for its investors. The firm focuses on control equity investments in lower middle market companies, primarily in North America. Their investment strategy is built on fundamental industry analysis, targeting business sectors with growth potential exceeding the general economy over the long term and across economic cycles. Within these attractive industries, Seven Point acquires companies with established market positions that have the potential for significantly improved performance. The firm's operational and capital resources proactively drive outsized investment returns by accelerating the growth rates and levels of profitability of the businesses they own.
The firm's investment interest is focused on specialty manufacturing and business services in industry sectors that are expected to grow faster than the U.S. economy. They have a clear investment vision: to commit capital in businesses only when they can acquire companies at reasonable valuations and improve fundamental enterprise value through operational transformation. Their active involvement in businesses is led by their talented Operating Partners, all of whom have demonstrated their ability to transform organizations and build fundamental value. As a team, their strategy leverages more than 300 years of combined real-world investment and operating experience at top-tier companies across multiple geographies and business cycles.
Seven Point's differentiated approach emphasizes a belief in human capital and long-term thinking. They believe in the transformative potential of talented operating executives and highly motivated employees company-wide. Their investment strategy centers on the ability of experienced Operating Partners to drive fundamental improvement in the businesses they acquire. They invest in companies only when their Operating Partners can develop clear and achievable plans for increasing revenues, improving profits, and raising returns on invested capital. Their long-term investment orientation supports the organizational and operational transformation of the companies they own, creating multiple paths for value creation and, ultimately, above-average returns for their investors.
Since their first acquisition in 2014, Seven Point has successfully executed their strategy through multiple business transformations and has established a strong investment track record. They focus primarily on investing in North American businesses but have global investment interest and the experience to deploy capital flexibly anywhere in the world. Their non-institutional sources of capital enable them to invest patiently over a long time horizon, seeking to maximize returns expressed as a multiple of invested capital, as opposed to short-term rates of return resulting from high-velocity investment turnover.
In 2022, Seven Point closed a $120 million continuation fund for RiteScreen, the largest independent manufacturer of window and patio door screens in North America. This transaction provided ownership continuity and an expanded investor base to accelerate growth and support future mergers and acquisitions. The continuation fund transaction allowed certain investors in RiteScreen to sell their stakes to the new fund, while other investors chose to retain their ownership positions. The continuation fund, managed by Seven Point, was supported by existing limited partners and new institutional investors led by Timber Bay Partners. The continuation fund transaction provided RiteScreen with ownership continuity and an expanded investor base with significant capital resources to drive organic growth initiatives and M&A opportunities.
In 2017, Seven Point acquired the assets of Medin Corporation, renaming it Medin Technologies, Inc. Medin is the leading independent U.S. manufacturer of sterilization cases and trays for the orthopedic implant and instrument industry. The acquisition allowed Seven Point to enhance Medin's manufacturing capabilities and broaden its offerings to its customer base. Andy Novotny, a Seven Point Operating Partner, was named Chief Executive Officer of Medin at closing. Jay Schainholz, the former majority owner of the company, retained a minority ownership position and served as Medin's Chairman.
Seven Point's investment philosophy centers on the belief that outstanding leadership has a powerful effect on employees throughout an organization. Business transformations are an all-hands-on effort, and they recognize the importance of building a winning and supportive culture throughout an organization. Their long-term thinking approach understands that real operational transformation takes time, and they back managers patiently as they do the hard work necessary to build great businesses and create fundamental value.
Overall, Seven Point Equity Partners is committed to building great businesses
