Shawn Jenkins

Shawn Jenkins is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor specializing in healthcare and technology sectors. He co-founded Benefitfocus in 2000, a software platform that transformed the healthcare and benefits industries, leading it from startup through IPO to $250 million in annual revenue and a $1 billion valuation. In 2015, he made a significant philanthropic contribution of $25 million to establish the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.

After his tenure at Benefitfocus, Jenkins co-founded 3Together, an IT company focused on designing software applications to simplify and manage issues in the healthcare and finance communities. As Chairperson, he continues to drive innovation in these sectors. His investment portfolio includes Foodsmart, a company he invested in during its Series C funding round in 2021.

Jenkins holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Geneva College and an MBA from Charleston Southern University. He is also a licensed commercial pilot, reflecting his diverse interests and commitment to excellence in both business and personal pursuits.
