SOSV's HAX Program

SOSV's HAX program is a global accelerator dedicated to pre-seed hard tech startups, focusing on sectors such as industrial automation, climate tech, health tech, and manufacturing. The program offers up to $550,000 in pre-seed funding to participating companies. HAX operates a flagship 35,000 sq. ft. facility in Newark, NJ, and has additional locations in Shenzhen, Pune, and Tokyo. The program provides a six-month collaborative residency, hands-on engineering support, and an initial investment package of $500,000. HAX has supported 348 startups since its inception in 2012, which have collectively raised over $2.5 billion and have a cumulative valuation exceeding $8.6 billion. The program is managed by SOSV, a multi-stage venture capital firm with over $1.5 billion in assets under management, and is overseen by General Partners Duncan Turner and Cyril Ebersweiler, with Chief Science Officer Susan Schofer and HAX Partner Ji Ke. HAX's mission is to help founders rapidly prototype, de-risk technology, and achieve traction in the hard tech sector. The program emphasizes a hands-on approach, providing founders with access to specialized labs, engineering resources, and a global network of mentors and partners to accelerate product development and market entry. HAX's portfolio includes companies like unspun, R-Zero, Neptune Robotics, and Smartex, showcasing its commitment to fostering innovation in hard tech industries.
