Southwestern Ontario Angel Group

The Southwestern Ontario Angel Group (SWO Angels) is a members-only non-profit organization comprised of accredited investors seeking investment opportunities in promising, early-stage businesses. Founded in early 2008, SWO Angels aims to strengthen the regional and Canadian economy by supporting innovative ventures. The group offers screened access to promising startups and investments, providing opportunities for better returns from this asset class. Members also benefit from sharing expertise with over 200 experienced angel investors from SWO Angels, GTAN, AngelOne, and WECAN.

SWO Angels focuses on early-stage companies and entrepreneurs, offering valuable mentorship and access to capital networks to facilitate learning, networking, and growth. The organization is a founding member of Equation Angels, a collaboration that combines the expertise and resources of four angel groups from Southern Ontario to accelerate the innovation ecosystem for investors and entrepreneurs. This powerful network comprises nearly 200 angel investors eager to partner with aspiring entrepreneurs on transformative visions essential to the growth of the Canadian economy.

Since its inception, SWO Angels has made significant investments in various sectors, including technology, healthcare, and manufacturing. The group's portfolio includes companies such as Vanrx, a biopharmaceutical manufacturing firm acquired by Cytvia, and Renix, a company specializing in liquid separation technologies acquired by ClonBio Group Ltd. These investments highlight SWO Angels' commitment to fostering innovation and economic development in the region.
