Sporos Platform

Sporos Platform is Greece's first Circular Economy Impact Investing Fund, launched in 2023 with an initial capital of €30.5 million. The fund is dedicated to accelerating the transition to a circular economy for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Greece and Southeastern Europe. It is classified as an Article 9 SFDR 'Dark Green Fund', aligning with the EU Taxonomy for sustainable investments.

The fund employs a holistic approach, combining quasi-equity financial tools, tailored consultancy services, and advanced ESG & SDG metrics to enhance competitiveness, drive job creation, and foster climate resilience across various industry sectors. Its investment focus includes clean energy, logistics, blue growth, sustainable tourism, bio-economy, agri-food, industrial symbiosis, remanufacturing, plastics, chemicals, and e-waste.

Sporos Platform is supported by the Hellenic Development Bank of Investments S.A. and ten other investors from Greece and abroad, including systemic banks, institutional investors, and key stakeholders in green finance, shipping, and international impact investing. The fund typically invests between €500,000 and €3 million in innovative Greek businesses committed to extending product life cycles, minimizing waste, and promoting resource efficiency.
