SVL SME Neev II Fund

The SVL SME Neev II Fund, managed by SBI Ventures Limited, is a private equity fund dedicated to investing in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across India. The fund primarily targets businesses that offer solutions in clean energy, electric vehicles, efficient use of raw materials, water management, and circular economy projects. By focusing on these sectors, the fund aims to contribute to India's climate action goals and sustainable development initiatives.

Established in May 2021, the fund has attracted investments from prominent global and domestic investors, including the European Investment Bank (EIB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), and the Self Reliant India (SRI) Fund. These partnerships underscore the fund's commitment to fostering sustainable growth and addressing environmental challenges in India.

As of March 2024, the fund has committed approximately ₹826 crore across seven investments, with actual investments totaling ₹507 crore. The portfolio includes companies like RETAS Enviro Solutions Private Limited, which specializes in modular rainwater harvesting and disaster-resilient infrastructure solutions. This strategic focus not only supports the growth of SMEs but also aligns with India's broader objectives of achieving carbon emissions reduction targets by 2030 and promoting environmental sustainability.
