SWEN Blue Ocean is a venture capital fund dedicated to regenerating ocean health by investing in innovative solutions addressing overfishing, pollution, and climate change. The fund was launched in September 2021 in partnership with Ifremer, France's leading ocean research institute, and has raised €170 million, exceeding its initial target of €120 million. It is recognized as the world's largest venture capital fund focused on ocean regeneration.

The fund primarily invests in early-stage companies, particularly in Series A rounds, with initial investments ranging from €2 million to €12 million. Its portfolio includes startups such as AYRO, which develops wind-powered decarbonization solutions for the maritime sector, and Bibak, a French company offering reusable packaging services. Other investees include EcoSubsea, NatureMetrics, and BlueNav.

SWEN Blue Ocean is classified as an Article 9 fund under the European Union's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, emphasizing its commitment to impact investing. The fund's strategy combines financial returns with positive environmental impact, aiming to support the regeneration of ocean biodiversity and contribute to global sustainability efforts.
