Tunitas Ventures is a seed stage venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California, founded in 2022 by Dr. Eric Ver Ploeg. The firm focuses on investing in category-creating companies with few to no competitors, defensible business models, and unit economic models that are starting to work. Their primary value-add is assisting entrepreneurs in raising their next round of funding from the best possible investors.

The firm's investment strategy emphasizes backing startups that are creating new categories, often taking on ambitious projects that matter. Dr. Eric Ver Ploeg, the founding partner, has over 25 years of startup and venture experience. Before founding Tunitas Ventures, he spent eleven years as a managing director in two large venture firms, with a say in over 500 Series A to Pre-IPO prospective investments, leading to over 140 investments. He has also started two venture-backed companies, raising five rounds of funding from firms such as Kleiner Perkins, Mayfield, JMI Equity, and VantagePoint. Dr. Ver Ploeg holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
