University Hospitals Ventures is the innovation and commercialization arm of University Hospitals, a renowned academic medical center and community hospital network based in Cleveland, Ohio. The firm identifies, develops, and deploys disruptive and creative innovations originating from within University Hospitals and from organizations worldwide. Its mission is to drive sustainable and scalable value in healthcare delivery through strategic investments and partnerships.

The firm operates through two primary platforms: the Operations Platform, which oversees and optimizes existing UH verticals such as Specialty Pharmacy, Post-acute and Home Care, and Lab Services; and the Ventures & Innovations Platform, which focuses on opportunities in Clinical Tools, Business Services & Infrastructure, Population Health, and Consumer Centric Care. This dual approach enables UH Ventures to support a diverse portfolio of projects, including health IT, medical devices, diagnostics, digital therapeutics, wellness, and enterprise operations.

UH Ventures collaborates with other venture capital firms and health system investors to enhance its portfolio. It co-manages the Healthcare Collaboration Fund with Jumpstart Ventures, an $8 million fund for pre-seed companies in Ohio. The firm also partners with startups and industry partners, providing investment and market access to foster innovation and economic development across Northeast Ohio. Through these efforts, UH Ventures aims to advance the science of health and the art of compassion, improving the lives of patients and caregivers in the community.
