Wexford SciTech Venture Fund

The Wexford SciTech Venture Fund is a venture capital fund focused on investing in early and late-stage seed opportunities in life sciences and technology sectors. The fund primarily targets companies operating or seeking to operate in markets where Wexford Science & Technology has developed or is developing a Knowledge Community. In addition to financial support, portfolio companies gain access to Wexford's extensive network of university talent, industry experts, strategic partners, and resources to facilitate their growth and scalability.

The fund typically invests between $150,000 and $500,000 in companies with pre-money valuations of $15 million or less. It seeks a minimum 1:1 match of funding from other co-investors at the same or better commercial terms. The investment strategy emphasizes seed and early growth rounds, preferably in the form of convertible debt or SAFE notes, but it also considers Series A or later rounds that could significantly enhance the fund's financial returns.

Portfolio companies include 3Daughters, a clinical development company focused on women's health, Astek Diagnostics, a medical device diagnostics company, Commons Clinic, an orthopedic care provider, Irazu Oncology, a cancer vaccine developer, and KaloCyte, a developer of artificial red blood cells. The fund's leadership comprises members from Wexford's senior management team and third-party technology and investing experts, including President Tom Osha, Fund Manager George Davis, Advisory Committee Chairman Marco Chacon, PhD, and Investment Committee Chairman Travis Sheridan.
